The Sewer Rat is a creature that appeared in "Sam's New Pet" a scary story from Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill your bones, Sam's parents somehow mistook it for a stray and hairless dog.

It is shown to be hairless, has a mutated like body, has human-like ears, and has rotting teeth.
Biography[]
While Sam was staying with his grandmother both of his parents went to Mexico for vacation, they attempted to bring something back to Sam as a gift, they found a sombrero they could get him. But it costed too much, when they went back to the marketplace a dog started to follow them. They asked several people who the owner was no one had any clue, Sam's Mom thinks that it is a stray and decide to take the stray dog back home with them.
There was a problem as it was illegal to take pets across the state border, Sam's parents hid the animal inside of a box. They showed the dog to Sam the father thought it was a Mexican hairless, they gave the animal food, washed and brushed its fur. the next morning Sam awakened, the dog had something odd going on with it it's eyes were running, and something white around it's mouth. Sam's mother took it to a veterinarian to check what was wrong with the dog, the vet ask where she got the dog to which she replies Mexico, she thought it was a hairless. The vet gives her the news that it's not a dog at all, it's a sewer rat and that it has rabies.
